For the Delay Sanction Scale (page 89), the Hand Signal reference is 25, not 23. For Signal 22 (line fault/penetration, page 98), the description of the signal is incomplete. It should say “Point to the center line or to the respective line.” In other words, our signal for a server foot fault has NOT changed – we still point to the end line, no sweeping motion. For Signal 24 (ball touched, page 99), we have not “officially” adopted the FIVB touch signal, which varies only slightly from our current signal. The FIVB signal pictorial indicates that we brush the fingers of one hand (held horizontally) over the finger tips of the other hand (held vertically). The traditional signal that we’ve always used is still appropriate and acceptable – brush the fingers of one hand in an upward motion across the fingers of the other hand (held vertically). |
